About the Cafe

Our Care Giving Cafe infuses the magical powers of arts and culture to help celebrate Caregivers service to others.  Drum circles, listening and learning how to play musical instruments, doll and quilt making, dancing, are just some of the arts that are utilized to improve the whole-self and the resilience of spirit and character.

Our Care Giving Cafe will be hosting events once a year.  The first event was held on February 14, 2009.  To see pictures from the event, visit our Event Gallary.

This innovative concept of a café style approach to developing the whole person, reducing stress, and providing tools to help with the issues of progressive Health, Wellness and Artistic applications was developed by a team of experts in their fields.  For details about the team, visit our team page.

About the Caregivers

Most caregivers provide care out of love, a sense of obligation, or both.  Whether they are providing the support alone or coordinating the work with others, the tasks impact the normal activities of life for the caregiver.

Caregivers who are faced with the many demands of providing care often experience caregiver burden. This term refers to the impact of many emotional, physical and financial responsibilities on the caregiver.

Burden has to do with the life changes that have come about when you take on the caregiving role. It may endure as long as your help is needed. Because the demands of caregiving can continue indefinitely, it is difficult for the caregiver to take the time to find and even understand the right solutions.  Our Care Giving Cafe provides a forum for caregivers to come together, obtain much needed information to help them in their day to day activities, and more importantly find the means to release the stress and anxiety associated with caregiver burden.
